Research shows that online counselling is just as effective as in-person counselling. Although therapists were mandated to move therapy online during the pandemic, research studies have shown that online therapy is equally as effective as in-person therapy. Our best rated therapists are now offering online therapy and are available for new clients.
If you have a complicated situation, it can be hard to know if it’s the right fit. Or you may be someone who feels in-person therapy is the only way to go. That is all valid. But the best way to know for sure is by having an honest conversation with a therapist. That's why on Talked you can test the waters with therapists who offer free consultations so that you can find the best therapist for your needs.
We will email you a join link which you can use to connect with your therapist using our secure video platform.
We offer a range of qualified low cost therapists for as little as $50 a session. You can also claim the cost back from Medicare providing that you meet the requirements and book with a Medicare provider.
Once you have booked your therapy session with your online counsellor or psychologist and you join the secure video, you will be greeted by your online therapist. During the therapy session, you will have the opportunity to let your online therapist know about the issues you are facing. Your counsellor will then work through how they can help you and the methods that they will use.
A online therapy session is 50 minutes long.
Online therapy is simply using your desktop or mobile phone to connect with a therapist using either audio, video or text technology. Instead of making the nerve-wracking journey to your therapist's office, online counselling offers you the safety and privacy of your own safe space. A large benefit of using online therapy is that it will help your mind and body to view your home as a place of healing. As a result, your mind will be able to implement the learning from therapy into everyday life a lot more easily.
