I am enigmatic, vibrant, honest, hilarious, creative & bold.
Sing and write songs.
I'm interested in trauma, I'm great at providing advice and I really enjoy interacting with people without their PR personality - we all have one. I believe authentically connecting with a person and how they experience the world with themselves in it is the most meaningful and useful way to connect. Therapy creates a space for that inherently, we can metaphorically speaking, catch three birds with one stone.
Whenever I get referrals through word of mouth because my clients feel like what I am doing is unique and impactful, I feel validated that I'm making a difference. I feel encouraged that there's space for authenticity of self in professional practice. I hope that my clients can look to me to be the example of how you can self actualise in the face of adversity.
Don't talk yourself out of what might help you, commit to advocating for yourself. Commit to believing that if you do the work, the change is inevitable.
Well I still do it! I'm a singer-songwriter, which is a wonderful side hustle to have and it means I get to be and explore all the facets of who I am. But if I wasn't a therapist, I'd probably have gone into medicine, possibly dermatology.
An excessive amount of mayonnaise.
That you are worth your own investment.
