Memberships

  • Australian Psychological Society
  • Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency

Medicare provides access for up to 10 psychology sessions per year for eligible clients.

Am I eligible for a Medicare rebate?

To be eligible for Medicare rebates you must have a valid Medicare card and a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and referral from your GP.

If you don't already have these, you can book a bulk billed GP appointment

How do I get my Medicare rebate?

After each session we will process your Medicare claim on your behalf. Medicare will then pay your rebate directly into your bank account.

Do I need to pay for the session upfront?

Yes, then after each session we will process your Medicare claim and you'll be paid the rebate directly back into your bank account.

Do I need my GP referral and MHTP before booking?

No, you can book a session first, but you must see your GP and get your referral before your session.

Can I use my existing referral?

Yes, if you already have a referral for a different psychologist or service, you can simply use that referral to book a session with this psychologist.
