In order to check whether your Australian Unity policy covers mental health services such as psychology services, you must check your policy extras for 'mental health' or 'psychology'. To do this you can log in to your Australian Unity account or follow the Australian Unity explainer to mental health.
How do I claim my rebate from Australian Unity?
Once you have chosen a HAustralian Unity BF approved psychologist near you, you can easily book a therapy session at your desired time with them. You will need to pay for the appointment up-front. You can then download the invoice and submit your claim directly to Australian Unity. Please note that the amount you can claim is dependent on your level of Australian Unity psychology cover. Is a psychologist also covered by Australian Unity?

Do I need a referral to claim my rebate with Australian Unity ?
No, you do not need a referral from a GP, you can simply book a session with one of Talked's Australian Unity approved therapists and then claim your rebate. A GP referral is only needed if you want to claim from Medicare.
Can I claim a rebate from Australian Unity and Medicare?
No, if you claim a rebate from Australian Unity you can not also claim from Medicare. To make a claim from Medicare you must have a mental health care plan and a referral from the GP.
