How much is the Nurses & Midwives Health psychology claim?

When you book a psychology session through Talked, you will have to pay for the session 48 hours before your appointment. Once the session has been completed, we will then provide you with an invoice tailored for you to claim your rebate directly from Nurses & Midwives Health.

You can claim your rebate using one of these methods:

1. Claim through the mobile app

Upload a photo or PDF of your invoice directly through the Nurses & Midwives Health app. If your session is booked through the Talked platform, you can easily log in to your account and download the invoice. Your Talked invoice will include the following, which meet standard private-health claiming requirements.:

  • Member/patient name

  • Psychologist’s name and provider number

  • Service description

  • Date and duration

  • Amount paid

2. Online claiming

Log in to your member account and lodge your claim by uploading the invoice.

3. Email or post

If you prefer, you can submit a completed claim form with your invoice via email or mail:

  • by email: submitclaim@nmhealth.com.au

  • by post: Nurses & Midwives Health, GPO Box 9812 Sydney NSW 2001

  • in person: at the Surry Hills or Parramatta Member Care Centre

If you're seeing a psychologist face-to-face outside the Talked platform, some clinics may also be able to swipe your membership card and process your claim on the spot using HICAPS.

When do I need to make a claim?

According to the Nurses & Midwives Health website, you can claim rebates within 2 years of using a covered service. However, it’s best to send your claim soon after your session, so it’s processed within the correct benefit year and to avoid any surprise issues with expired limits or changes in policy terms.

Can I claim a psychologist fee on both Nurses & Midwives Health and Medicare?

Unfortunately, you cannot use both Nurses & Midwives Health and Medicare for a psychology session at the same time. This generally applies to all other insurance policies.

  • Use Medicare benefits first (up to your yearly limit), then
